Projects
IT projets extend across multiple domains of expertise, technologies and industries. All aim at responding to client specific business and IT needs.
Digital Government
It is in the interest of all public institutions that businesses and citizens are able to perform their transactions with the government online and in a safe and easy way. Furthermore, information and communications technology should facilitate effective operational and resource management within both central governments and international organisations.
Trasys International has over 15 years of experience in developing and consulting in digital government systems and services for citizens, enterprise, and industry. Moreover, the company has specialised in developing and managing registration, evaluation and authorisation systems for national authorities and international organisations, with particular emphasis on private-to-public and enterprise-to-Institution interaction. We have provided managed staffing services and thousands of resources to the EU Commission, participating in and fundamentally aiding many of the key e-government and IT transformation projects initiated by the Directorates-General.
DIGITAL SOLUTIONS FOR CLIMATE CHANGE
REGISTRY AND TRANSACTION SYSTEMS FOR INTERNATIONAL AND EUROPEAN ORGANISATIONS
Trasys International has over 15 years of experience in developing and consulting in digital environmental systems…We have successfully developed and implemented the International Transaction Log (ITL) information system for the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change as well as the single EU registry and the EU Transaction Log (EUTL).
The International Transaction Log (ITL) connects registries and secretariat systems that are involved in the emissions trading mechanism defined under the Kyoto Protocol and its Doha amendment. One of the key mandates of the ITL is to ensure an accurate accounting and verification of transactions proposed by registries in order to support the review and compliance process of the Kyoto Protocol.
Following a revision of the ETS Directive in 2009, EU ETS operations are centralised in a single EU registry operated by the European Commission. The Union registry covers all 31 countries participating in the EU ETS. The European Union Transaction Log (EUTL) automatically checks, records and authorises all transactions between accounts in the Union registry. This ensures that all transfers comply with EU ETS rules.
Digital SOLUTIONS FOR PHARMA COMPLIANCE
EUDRACT
Trasys International has successfully developed and implemented the EUDRACT, Clinical Trials 0.4, Adverse Drug Reactions 2.0, and Clinical Data Publications systems for the European Medicines Agency, providing tools for the pharmaceutical industry to fulfil their obligations under related pharmaceutical legislation, Regulations, and EU Directives with regard to medicinal products for human and veterinarian use. These systems enable pharmaceutical companies in Europe to record and manage information on the properties of their substances (adverse drug effects, clinical trials, their effects on the environment and human health, etc.), and on their recommended usages.
DIGITAL SOLUTIONS FOR CHEMICALS COMPLIANCE
IUCLID 6 and CHESAR services
IUCLID (International Uniform Chemical Information Database) is a software application to record, store, maintain and exchange data on intrinsic and hazard properties of chemical substances. It is a key software application for both regulatory bodies and for the chemical industry where it is used in the implementation of various regulatory programmes. Examples include the OECD Cooperative Chemicals Assessment Programme (CoCAP) and the EU legislation Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and the Regulation on Biocidal Products.
CHESAR is an application developed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) to help companies carry out their chemical safety assessments (CSAs) and prepare their chemical safety reports (CSRs) and exposure scenarios (ES) for communicating to the supply chain.
Trasys International offers the following services:
TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE FOR YOUR IN-HOUSE MANAGED APPLICATIONS (IUCLID & CHESAR)
In this scenario, you keep the ownership of your database and applications, while Trasys International provides all the necessary support for business and technology-related questions.
CLOUD SERVICES FOR IUCLID AND CHESAR
In this context, cloud services mean that you do not maintain the local application on your premises, as the application is maintained in our datacentre in Belgium. Users access the applications remotely, in a secure way by using the security certificates. Trasys International takes care of the installation and the maintenance of all plug-ins, ensuring they are up-to date.
CUSTOM-MADE APPLICATION/ADD-ON TOOLS FOR IUCLID
Although the amount of substance data and supporting endpoint studies already available in the IUCLID application is already significant, all data can easily be used by the customer for preparing other reports or dossiers in a required format. Trasys International has in-house knowledge to support you with the preparation of business requirements or documentation. Or to guide you through the implementation of customer-specific add-on tools for existing IUCLID applications that will allow you to extract the necessary data in the required format. And finally, we can support you with the identification, the assessment and the implementation of the best-in-class IT solutions.
SAP- solutions > Trasys International provides the advisory, business and IT consulting services for selecting and implementing SAP Environments or Health and Safety Management (EHSM) systems for a wide range of industries.
Non-SAP solutions > Trasys International, in partnership with LISAM, provides all the services for the implementation of the ExESS solution for Chemicals and Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) management.
Intellectual property
Intellectual property rights include patents, copyright, industrial designs, trademarks, plant variety rights, trade dress, and in many jurisdictions trade secrets. There are also more specialised or derived varieties of exclusive rights, such as circuit design rights and supplementary protection certificates for pharmaceutical products (after expiry of their patent) and database rights (under European law). The World Intellectual Property Organisation Copyright Treaty and several related international agreements underline that the protection of intellectual property rights is essential to maintaining economic growth. Economists estimate that “IP-intensive industries” generate 72 percent more added value (price minus material cost) per employee than “non-IP-intensive industries”. In short, intellectual property rights are crucial to ensure the prosperity of a specific region, and international organisations and public agencies have been established with the purpose of protecting those rights.
Trasys International has over 10 years of experience in developing and consulting in digital intellectual property systems and services for international organisations and public agencies. We have successfully developed and implemented projects and Framework Contracts for Intellectual Property Organisation, establishing local offices that engaged in Project Management, Business Analysis, and Quality Assurance and Testing activities. We provided expertise and were engaged in project activities for the start-up and establishment of the European Observatory on Intellectual Property Rights and the Cooperation Fund at the EUIPO. In addition, we reviewed and rewrote the existing IT security policies and assisted the EUIPO in the development of an IT risk assessment methodology.
This comprehensive expertise is at the disposal of our customers in the national authorities and international organisations.
cybersecurity & defense
ethical hacking
The economic vitality and operational security of national authorities and international organisations depend on a stable, safe, and resilient cyberspace. The internet and its underlying infrastructure, however, are vulnerable to a wide range of risk stemming from cyberattacks and related threats. Sophisticated cyber actors exploit vulnerabilities to steal data and disrupt operations, and are developing capabilities to destroy or hold hostage the delivery of essential services. For all the advantages of our global communications network, increased connectivity brings increased risk of theft, fraud, and abuse.
Trasys International has the expertise to protect public entities from Internet-based risks and from risks relating to information technology infrastructure and activities. We have provided flagship services to international and national security organisations in the domain of penetration testing and ethical hacking, we provide assistance to potentially impacted entities, analyse the potential impact across critical infrastructure, and coordinate the response to significant cyber incidents.
In 2016, our consultants ended within the top five teams of Europe during an international competition for ethical hacking, penetration testing, and cybersecurity assessment. This expertise is at the disposal of our customers.
Earth observation & space robotics
EXOMARS & other ESA projects
The European Space Agency (ESA) helps to shape the development of Europe’s space capability. These developments are beneficiary to all of us. As the domain of activities in which ESA operates in is vast (ranging from Earth Observation, over Navigation, Space Operations, and Space Engineering, to Human Spaceflights), the challenges are as likewise.
Trasys International has over 20 years of experience in developing and consulting in Space Robotics, real-time 3D simulation for engineering and training, and Earth Observation.
Some recent key projects related to the space branch of Trasys International are:
3DROCS: GROUND CONTROL STATION FOR AUTONOMY
3DROCS is an ESA activity, led by Trasys International. 3DROCS aims to support rover planetary exploration operations. The main objectives are to reduce the tactical planning process time, to increase the user awareness on the system behaviour, to improve the understanding of the Activity Plan and to provide a unified interface for strategic and tactical planning.
To this end, 3DROCS exploits as much as possible the spatiotemporal nature of the rover operations since the location on the planet and the time an operation is executed shall be jointly considered during operations specification and data analysis.
ROCS: EXOMARS ROVER OPERATIONS CONTROL SYSTEM
Trasys International (as subcontractor of GMV) is developing the ExoMars Rover Operations Control System (ROCS).
Trasys International is responsible for all the components involving the Activity Preparation, Plan Validation & Command Generation and 3D Visualisation of the ExoMars robotics activities.
PROBA-V DISTRIBUTION FACILITY AND MISSION EXPLOITATION PLATFORM
In the field of Earth Observation, Trasys International developed for VITO the Products Distribution Facility, a subsystem of the PROBA-V User Segment. We are assisting Vlaamse Instelling voor Technologisch Onderzoek (VITO) in the development of the Mission Exploitations Platform which aims at allowing users to develop-debug-deploy their own applications on a scalable platform with access to the full data archive from PROBA-V.
